On Saturday (January 20), Dubai Capitals will compete against MI Emirates at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the second match of ILT20 2024. This will be the debut game for both teams.
Last season, the Capitals triumphed in four out of 10 matches and secured the fourth spot. They met MI Emirates in the eliminator match, posting a score of 151 runs for the loss of five wickets while batting first. MI successfully chased the target of 152 runs in 16.4 overs, holding eight wickets. David Warner has taken over the helm from Rovman Powell as the captain of the team.
MI emerged victorious in five of their 10 matches and finished in the third position during the league stage. In the second qualifier, they faced the Gulf Giants, but were defeated after accumulating 167 runs and losing five wickets. The Giants clinched the victory in 18.1 overs, with four wickets in hand. Nicholas Pooran has replaced Kieron Pollard as the team’s skipper.
